"(The Aberglaslyn Pass)... between Tremadoc and Beddgelert is a short but very beautiful and has been the haunt of artist and poets for centuries. Before the embarkment was built at Port Madoc the estuary of River Glaslyn streched northwars to the Pass of Aberglaslyn and boats sailed right up to the Glaslyn Bridge. The former course of the Welsh Highland Railway has now been made a footpath and efforts are being made to re-open a section to the north of Beddgelert."
