Lyra, I don't think I could even begin with how pretty I think this card is! I always read the back of my post cards before I look at the pictures. As I read your words I tried to imagine how pretty the building you were discribing was in my head-but I was no where close to being able to imagine- I'll even admit that I gasped a little when I flipped the card over to finally look at the picture. Handmade - image of yarn, string and beads

~ Now this really is a thoughtful card. I love...LOVE ... to knit. It really is my biggest hobby. My grandmother taught me knitting basics when I was around twelve years old - although my love for knitting didn't really start until I was in my very early twenties. I think one of the biggest reasons that I love it so much is because I feel like I am preserving a little piece of the past, making sure that the art of knitting (at least in my own family) does not die out. Although, really if you stumbled upon Ralvery.com (a online knitting/croceht comunity) with its 471,190
registered users it is very clear to see that the art of knitting is not in any real danger of becoming a thing of the past.
Never the less, knitting makes me feel special. The knowledge that I can make soemthing useful with my own hands is very rewarding and something I have come to crave!

Opti, thank you so much for this thoughtful card! I love to knit so the image of the yarn and string was a great choice. Thank you for being so thoughtful!

2ND CARD ~ GERMANY

RECEIVED FROM POST CROSSING

Sent by froggy12 from Garmish-Partenkirehen, Germany
Traveled
5,175 Kms in 6 days

Photo of:
Garmish-Partenkirehen/ Oberbayen, Germany

(from Wikipedia)
Garmisch-Partenkirchen is a market town in Bavaria, southern Germany. It is the administrative center of the district of Garmish-Partenkirchen, in the Oberbayern region, not far from the border of Austria. Garmisch and Partenkirchen were separate towns for many centuries, and still maintain quite separate identities

~ I really like all the views on this card. It really shows a nice scope of the area. Honestly I jjust love cards from Germany. I spent the first six years of my life in Germany. We lived on the Canadian Military base in Lahr. My parents loved to take weekend trips so we were always finding ourselves in one beautiful place aftre another. I being young, was really only along for the ride but I do remember so many places and the many of the beautiful landscapes. When I get cards from Germany it brings a little bit of comfort to me- almost like a 'homey' feeling. Which some people may think is odd (me being so young and my time spent there so long ago) - but for me, it goes almost without saying that my very first years spent with my parents in Germany are some of my very happiest memories.

Thank You Maren (froggy12) For this lovely card! I love the mountains! Thank you for the memories :)

1ST CARD ~GERMANY

RECEIVED FROM POST CROSSING
Sent by Rafal from Berlin, Germany
Traveled 5,469 Kms in 7 days

Photo of:
Die Miseumsinsel, Bodemuseum Berlin, Germany
(The Museum Island, Bodemuseum)

Located on the northern end of "Museum Island" in the heart of Berlin, the Bode Museum is known for being rich in medieval art. Founded in 1904, the Bode Museum reopened in 2006 after extensive renovations. It contains a wealth of art and artifacts from the Byzantine and Medieval periods, primarily from Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, France and Spain.

~ My very first card and such a pretty one at that. I love museums and I have always wished that there were more around here that I could go visit. Whenever I travel I also research to see what (if any) museums will be at my destination. I love art and looking a the bits and pieces left from our past. If I ever make it back to Berlin, I know that the Bode Museum will be very high on my agenda!

Thank you Rafal for this great card! This card will officially be my "First Card" in my collection! I love picture of museums and landmarks so this was a great choice! Thank you again!

Post Cards!

I collect post cards.
So, I have decided that this is were I will show off the ones that I have received. Many I receive are sent to me through a website called Post Crossing- which I am a memeber of. Others are sent to me from people I have me on the online community Ravelry- and some are just cards sent by friends and family.
