122ND CARD ~ AUSTRALIA
RECEIVED FROM POST CROSSING
Sent by Juan from Australia
Traveled 17,509 Kms in 77 days
Photo of: hand drawn picture of Moomin
Isn't this card great! I had a laugh when I saw it! I think it is a really good drawing of Moomin! There is no way I could draw him this well!
I can not believe how long this card took to get here ~77 days! Of course it may not have been sent right away (postcrossing starts counting traveling time as soon as you request an address) . Although in the card Juan mentions that she had moved Malaysia when she had sent the card using a Australian stamp (at least I think this is what she means) if so I am amazed it got here at all.
I just love cards that have a unique story.
Also ...I want to mention how much I love the castle in the back ground. Tops.
Christmas Catch-Up
December has been insane.
But I am so determined to make sure that I catch up on all my back logged post cards BEFORE the new year.
Christmas has brought a GIANT advance to Posted! We have a scanner!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm sure you can appreciate the significance of this since about 98% of this site relies on post cards being scanned. I guess you may be wondering how I have been scanning all these cards up until this point? ...the answer is ...at work....during my down time...on my crappy scanner that is in my office.
Truthfully it was becoming a little uninspiring to HAVE to work on my site during my lunch break.
Now- thanks to my wonderful husband I can scan in the comfort of my own home whenever I want! I can scan in my underwear if I so desired!
And I may desire just that.
More post cards soon- I promise.
Happy Holidays!

121ST CARD ~ PORTUGAL
RECEIVED FROM POST CROSSING
Sent by Catarina from Porto, Portugal
Traveled 4,413 Kms in 30 days
Photo of: Old photo of Porto, Portugal
I really like this card. I love old photographs. Sometimes when I am bored I just browse through old photographs on the internet, I can lose myself for hours this way. I love the view of the city on this card and how it overlooks this amazing river. My favorite part of the photo is of course the woman washing her clothing. I love when a photo captures everyday life.
Catarina assures me that this photo is quite old and people no longer wash there clothing n the river!

118TH CARD~UNITED STATES
PRIVATE CARD
Sent by ???? from the USA
Photo of: Beluga Whale
A mystery card from a secret pal!
I am participating in the Sunshine Swap on Ravelry again. If I did not explain it last time The Sunshine Swap is a swap where within the span of 2 months you must send you assigned partner at least 4 "pieces of sunshine". The only rules are that it must fit into a envelope. You can send cards or a bit of candy...anything really, as long as it is inexpensive and can fit in an envelope. It is rather fun, and quite nice to get mail that isn't junk mail or a bill.
ANYWAY- I think this is a very sweet card. I love the whale and every time I look at it I hear that Raffi song from when I was a kid. So cool!

Two beautiful cards that were enclosed in a deliciously long letter from my friend Maja from Pula, Croatia (you can follow the links to see the other cards she has sent me). Beautiful cards from a beautoful person.

Wow.
ANOTHER "new country".
I am so excited about this card from Bosnia-Herzegovina .
I feel really lucky to have it as it is another example of a card I would never have the chance to have if it was not for the kindness of the sender. It is so rewarding to "meet" people through Post Crossing and to learn about other countries.
Thank you Maja for being kind enough to swap with me. I really do truly appreciate it. I hope you have received my card as well. I wish you all the best and I am sure you will be a wonderful pharmacists!

Thank you Ariffin for agreeing to swap cards with me- I would most likely never be lucky enough to get a card from Bahrain if it was not for your kindness. Thank you again -I hope that the card I have sent you arrived safely and that you will enjoy it half as much as I am enjoying yours!

109TH CARD ~ FINLAND
Sent by Alisa From Finalnd
Traveled 5,766 Kms in 16 days
Photo of : The Villa Gyllenberg Art Museum in Helsinki, Finland
I really do love post cards with museums or art galleries on them (have I mentioned this before?) I am not even sure why? Perhaps it is the grand buildings or maybe simply just the fact that I can look up the museum or gallery on the internet and "virtually" explore. I just love museums period. Always have. I guess I should just go ahead and say it- “I love learning” There I said it. If there was a lame Olympics I would get the gold.
I even fell in love with my husband in a museum.
The natural history museum was featuring an exhibit about the
Honestly I wasn't terribly interested in him up until that "date".
He was so shy then but very smart; and at the very least I thought he was a nice guy.
I was 19 and he was 21.
It turned out to be a fairly nice day and we spent most of the afternoon wandering around the different exhibits. Towards the end if the afternoon we were standing in front of a display about lemurs and he was telling me some obscure fact about them ... suddenly something in my brain clicked and it must have shown on my face because I remember him asking me if anything was wrong. “No”, I had told him, “Nothing at all”- but inside my brain was a whirl wind of thoughts. It was in that moment I knew, that one day, I was going to marry him…although at the time I did not truly believe it. I barely knew this man. So at the time I chalked it up to simple foolishness and possibly hunger.
Six years later we were married- and I have honestly never been happier.
Thank you Alisa for the lovely card and the inspired memory. :)
108TH CARD ~ AFGHANISTAN
PRIVATE CARD
Sent by Mike in Afghanistan
Photo of: Ad card for "Deli Kaf Paris Fashions"
Another card from my lovely brother-in-law! You can follow the links to see all of the cards he sent me while over seas. I actually received this card a few weeks ago- but I have gotten really behind on my updates. Mike is actually officially home in Canada now. He got home last night and we are all so happy to have him safe and sound. I can not wait until Christmas to see him and all of the rest of the family (they live in another province).
I think that this card is really interesting and unique. The back of the card does not give much information so I am assuming it is an ad card for a clothing store some where in Afghanistan. I will have to ask him where he go it when I see him (or I could always just email him...) .
Anyway- it was an interesting final card in the "Mike goes to Afghanistan series" - I plan to put all the cards he sent me away in a special place - so that his future children and nieces/nephews can read them. A little bit of family history.

106TH CARD ~ BELGIUM
Sent by Marleen From Belgium
Traveled 4,942 Kms in 7 days
Photo of: Antwerp, Belgium
This picture reminds (kinda) of (old) Quebec City, Quebec - here in Canada. Which incidentally is where my husband proposed to me. (Quebec- not Belgium).
Thank you very much for the pretty card! I love the buildings!
105TH CARD ~ POLAND
Sent by Marcelina from Cracow,Poland
Traveled 6,002 Kms in 13 days
Photo of: The Main Square, St. Mary's Church
I really love the mix of the new and old in this postcard.
Also I was thinking about how probably not one of the individuals in this card know that they are on a post card. How weird is that? I wonder how many images of me are out there? Me walking around in someones photo, inevitably doing something unflattering.
Isn't the sky beautiful in this photo?
Beautiful card Marcelina~ and what a beautiful name you have too! Thank you!
104TH CARD~UNITED STATES
Sent by Aurora From Texas, USA
Traveled 3,140 Kms in 19 days
Photo of: "Pegasus" at the Old Red Museum of Dallas Country History and Culture
"This Pegasus was originally built for the 1939 World's Fair in New York City as a symbol of the Magnolia Oil Company, now Exon-Mobil. It was later moved to the Casa Linda Mobil gas station, just east of downtown Dallas, and eventually moved to the Old Red Museum's main entry."
I really do like this card- although I am not going to lie- it took me a minute to see "Pegasus".
This card brought back memories of my grade 12 advanced English class (that's right- advanced). We made a video presentation of some of the Greek Myths. If my memory is correct, it was pretty terrible. We "acted" it out useing Barbie dolls and various other action figures. I believe Darth Vader played Hades. If nothing else it was fun and we did get an "A". I actually REALLY got into Greek Mythology for a little while after that- anyway- that's what this card made me think of... yet another thing to add to my pile of 'lame' interests..I swear it gets longer everyday.
Oh. And this card had Simpson stamps on it.
I am pretty excited about that.
Thanks Auroa! I love the card and the stamps! My first card from Texas I belive!

103RD CARD ~ CHINA
Sent by Zephyrego From Hong Kong, China
Traveled 12,590 Kms in 20 days
Photo of: Penguins!
A beautiful card with beautiful stamps!
So, nothing like a bunch penguins on a frozen tundra to remind me that winter is barreling towards us. *sigh* I am SO NOT ready for mittens. Summer was so short this year here in Nova Scotia. I would argue that we really only had a good solid two weeks of "real" summer weather. The rest of the summer was, in my opinion, dreary, wet and dull. Oh well- husband and I did manage to squeeze as much summer fun in as we could.
If nothing else the cold weather at least makes me feel less ridiculous about knitting...which reminds me....I really should finish that blanket.
Thank you so much for this very very pretty card! I also love the stamps!

101ST CARD~NETHERLANDS
Sent by Adry From Overdinkel, The Netherlands

What a pretty card and a lovely letter all tucked into an equally pretty card (also of lambs)!
Thanks Adry! So pretty and so thoughtful! I love the little letter you wrote and the pretty little card you tucked it all into! Very unique! Thank you so much for telling me a bit about where your from, I love learning about other places!
I Used To Think I Was Pretty Cool....
Yes..it is a lot of post cards....but I have met people with many many many more. People with so many cards that there collection would easily put my measly 100 cards to shame. But I mean...come on...100 cards is a lot especially when you realize I have only been collecting since May 2009.
All in all I'm pretty delighted, though to be honest, I'm a little worried that Ill turn into one of those "crazy collector" people. But then I realize that I have no where near enough spare time for that, and besides, I also have my stamp collection...so yeah know...that keeps me pretty bust too...(ahem)....
Well, here they are in all there glory....
YEAH! 100 POST CARDS~~!!!!~~~!!!
Oh...also I gave the blog a slightly new look to celebrate~!
(mostly because I was sick at looking at the old design,,,)
